Violinists EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks and Bryce Martin, violist Sofia Nikus, and cellist Peter Zay will present a selection of classical favorites in this special debut performance at the Westport Free Public Library. Friends of Westport Library’s Annual Summer Paperback Sale

This is a drop-in writing group that supports writers of all levels. Membership is free, open to the public, and is appropriate for writers aged 18 and older.Our definition of writer: If you can put words to paper or keyboard, then you are a writer. Your experience of your first day of kindergarten, work, or coaching your nephew's tee ball team is yours to tell. We all have stories, opinions, and unique points of view. Writers share them by crafting stories, poems, comics, memoirs, and a dozen other mediums! We look forward to sharing stories with you!The group is primarily prompt-driven. We’ll introduce a prompt and write to it on the spot. At times, we may offer a writing exercise or “assign” a prompt to be written on one’s own time and brought back to share the following month.

Want to know where a British spy was captured by a housewife or where the infamous Whipping Post was (or is)? Do you know where Pittsville was or where Gray's Ice Cream originated? The Tiverton Historical Society offers walking tours of the Tiverton Four Corners area on alternating Saturdays this summer, highlighting 18 historic buildings and sites, and the people who lived in the area at that time.&nbsp;Tours start at 3 PM in the Chace-Cory House parking lot and will not be held if it is raining. You must reserve a place before your tour date or no guide will show, and you'll miss the surprise at the end (outreach@tivertonhistorical.org). Dates: July 11, 25; August 1, 15, 29.&nbsp;THS donation: $5/person; free for THS members and kids 12 &amp; younger.

Chase-Cory House

The early 18th century dwelling, headquarters of the Tiverton Historical Society, with its early outbuildings, is open with tours Sundays from 2 to 4:30 PM for the summer season. The Society's collection of early American antiques and furnishings are displayed in restored period rooms, as well as documents and artifacts from Tiverton's rich past. This season, special displays have been set up celebrating our country's semiquincentennial: a silk flag flown by George Washington's RI Infantry, a rare printing of the Declaration of Independence, a map of the 1778 Battle of RI showing redoubts and troop movements, a surveyor's chart of Narragansett Bay and environs of July 1776, Civil War uniforms, and more.
Outbuildings include the wash house, corn crib, and outhouse. The entrance is through the museum shop where historical books, Weetamoo Woods guide books, Tiverton mugs and ornaments, Tiverton Revolutionary militia placemats, copies of early Tiverton maps, Tiverton Bank bookmarks, and other items may be purchased.
The Chace-Cory House is located at 3908 Main Road, over the wall from Gray's Ice Cream at Tiverton Four Corners, and is open from 2-4:30 PM Sundays, June 7-Sept. 6 or by appointment. 
There is a preservation donation for non-members: $3 non-members, $2&nbsp; seniors (55+ yrs), members and children 12 years and younger free.
