Tiverton officials are selling a town schoolhouse, which was built in 1909, to avoid the cost of keeping it or tearing it down.
NECN reported that the building costs the town roughly $8,000 a year for utilities and other expenses. It is used by the harbor master, volunteer boards and commissions for meeting space.
A public auction is set for the next few weeks on the lawn of the Tiverton Community Center.
