3 Arrested On Trespassing Charges Following Warwick Camper Fire: Cops

WARWICK, RI — Two men and a woman were arrested on will trespass charges following a Warwick camper fire Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a fire at a residence on Rita Street near Marblehead Street shortly after 2 p.m., the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

"Initial information indicated that a camper had caught fire and that the residence may also have been involved," the release said.

"Responding personnel determined that the residence was not on fire and that the fire involved the camper, as previously stated, and a shed on the property," according to the release. "All occupants were reported to be outside, and no injuries were reported."

The two men and the woman — Kenneth Gannon, 50, Kevin Gannon, also 50, and Carol Pospishel, 56 — were arrested on the trespassing charges as they "had previously been prohibited from entering and/or occupying the residence" on Rita Street "due to multiple code and safety violations. Conditions cited at the property included a lack of electricity," the release said.

"Animal Control assisted with a dog located at the scene, which was subsequently released into the care of a responsible party," according to the release.
