WARWICK, RI — A Lincoln man stole his ex-girlfriend's Jeep and crashed into three other vehicles as he fled from the cops, police said.

About 9 p.m. on the Fourth of July, the ex-girlfriend called 911 and told them Jared Parenteau, 36, "had taken her 2023 black Jeep without her permission," the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

"The victim is the protected party in an active court-issued restraining order involving Mr. Parenteau," the release said. "She also advised responding officers that Mr. Parenteau was intoxicated at the time he left with her vehicle."
