Westerly Man Charged With Stealing More Than $1,500: Cops
He was investigated by the Financial Crimes Unit, police said.
WESTERLY, RI — A Westerly man was charged with stealing more than $1,500, police said.
Richard Peavey, 59, was arrested about 6 p.m. Sunday on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses, the Rhode Island State Police said in media release.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit and the Westerly Police Department locating" Peavey, the release said.

Peavey was processed at state police headquarters, arraigned by a justice of the peace and later released with an arraignment date, according to police.
