Intoxicated MA Driver Eluded Law But Nabbed After West Warwick Crash: Cops

The Attleboro man was taken to Kent Hospital in Warwick, police said.

WEST WARWICK, RI — An intoxicated driver eluded the law but was captured after a crash, police said.

Jonathan Doyle, 54, was arrested shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving under the influence of liquor, refusing to submit to a chemical test, reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, and eluding a law enforcement vehicle in a high-speed pursuit, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

"The arrest was the result of an attempted motor vehicle stop and subsequent motor vehicle collision" on Interstate 95 in West Warwick, the release said.

Doyle, a resident of Attleboro, was taken to Kent Hospital in Warwick for evaluation, according to the release, and then processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and "released into the custody of a responsible adult" according to police.
