West Warwick Cops On The Case Of The Mystery KKK Guy

There is no known threat to public safety, police said.

WEST WARWICK, RI — The West Warwick police are investigating the person caught on video walking around town in a Ku Klux Klan getup.

"The West Warwick Police Department is aware of a video circulating on various social media platforms depicting an individual dressed in a white robe with a pointed hood walking along Main Street in the Arctic section of Town," the department said in a media release.

The mystery Klansman was caught on video about 2 a.m. Monday, and since then, seems to have made himself scarce

"At this time, no additional similar reports have been received before or after this incident, and it appears to be isolated in nature," the release said.

"There is no known threat to public safety," according to the release, but police are still probing it.

"The incident is currently under investigation by the West Warwick Police Department's Detective
Division," the release said.

The police urged anyone with information about the person in the Klan outfit — "particularly individuals who may have
video surveillance footage from the area during the time of the incident" — to call the Detective Division at 401-827-9044.

"Callers may remain anonymous," the release said.
