Woonsocket Man Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges After Search Warrant Executed: Cops
The Woonsocket man was arrested by the Major Crimes Unit, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI — A Woonsocket man was arrested on gun and drug charges after troopers executed a search warrant, police said.
Ian Melendez Maldonado, 27, was arrested Monday on charges of modification of a semi-automatic weapon, manufacturing, delivering or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation, possession of firearms by a prohibited person, and large capacity feeding devices, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Melendez Maldonado was arrested by the state police Major Crimes Unit with assistance from the Violent Fugitive Task Force and Patrol Bureau, according to the release.

"The arrest was the result of the execution of a court-authorized search warrant," the release said.
"Mr. Melendez Maldonado was processed, transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment, and presented as a bail violator," according to the release.
