The application period opens May 1.
The Dallas Homebuyers Assistance Program (DHAP) officially has a new program administrator.
The City of Dallas issued a press release about the transfer on Friday. According to the release, Business and Community Lenders of Texas (BCL) will assume administration of the program, supporting critical home buyer assistance to eligible Dallas residents.
DHAP helps eligible low- and moderate-income households purchase a home by providing financial assistance at the time of purchase, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

DHAP participants may receive down payment assistance, closing cost assistance, and, in some cases, additional support based on need. Typical assistance amounts are up to $50,000 and up to $60,000 in high opportunity areas.
Dallas City Council approved BCL as the new program administrator. It will transition from the City of Dallas to the BCL, which will manage future application intake and program operations.
The next DHAP application period opens on May 1. Learn more about the application process here.
Submitting an initial application does not guarantee funding. Assistance is subject to eligibility review and availability of funds. The program is designed for home buyers who are already working with a lender and are ready to move forward with purchasing a home.
