"We were in our seventh house, and we were growing tired of maintaining a home," says Jim. "We love the lifestyle at Eagle's Trace! We like the social activities."

Hummingbird Square offers several floor plans to accommodate a range of styles and budgets. The new one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath designs have proven to be quite popular.
Inside, gleaming quartz countertops and updated stainless steel appliances grace kitchens. "All homes also feature screened porches," notes Sales Director Jon David. "That was a big draw for many prospective residents."
Most importantly, every home is maintenance-free, meaning residents no longer have to worry about costly, unexpected repairs. If a leaky faucet or appliance needs to be fixed, the expert General Services team handles it--at no extra cost.
Access to amenities
Because Hummingbird Square is connected to Mockingbird Plaza clubhouse, residents have easy access to two new restaurants.
"The Cookhouse boasts an exhibition-style kitchen, so residents can watch their meals be prepared by professional chefs," explains David. "And 1927 is a fine dining restaurant, perfect for sit-down dinners with friends."
Mockingbird Plaza is also home to The Perch, an outdoor cocktail bar with lovely lake views.
"There is also a new billiards table and a comfortable common area where residents often meet for coffee, card games, and socializing," David adds.
Home sweet home
After learning about the maintenance-free homes and top-notch amenities at Eagle's Trace, Jim and Diane knew that it was the retirement community for them.
They joined the Priority List, which saved their spot in line for the new Zachary floor plan--a large two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath design with a den, fireplace, and formal dining room.
"We love our new home! It's very open and bright," Diane says. "We're on the fifth floor looking down at the new amphitheater, so we have fabulous views."
To personalize their new home, Jim and Diane worked closely with the community's Custom Interiors team.
"We selected crown molding, added accent walls in the living room and bedroom, and upgraded our closets," Diane explains. "And we're excited about our corner coffee station, where we added a small counter and some cupboards."
A smooth move
Once their home was reserved and customization plans were set in motion, the Witts reached out to
the community's planning and moving consultant--another Priority List perk.
The consultant visited the couple in their single-family house in nearby Fulshear, Tex., to help them plan where their existing furniture would go in their new space.
Jim and Diane also enlisted the help of a preferred real estate agent and moving company to streamline the moving process even further.
"They are a big part of the reason we decided to go with Eagle's Trace," says Diane. "Every interaction was absolutely stellar. The process was so easy."
