The Williamson County Amateur Radio Club (WCARC), would like to extend a cordial invitation to the public to meet with the amateur radio operators of your community as we participate in the 2026 National Field Day event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday (June 27-28, 2026) at the Bliss Ranch, Hutto, Texas (directions below).
The WCARC Field Day site will be open to the public from 1 PM (CDT) on Saturday June 27th to 1 PM (CDT) on Sunday June 28th.
Amateur radio operators provide a critical public service for our community; during times of disaster, we are able to provide reliable communications when the normal infrastructure is offline. Licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and trained in the art and science of radio communication and basic electronics theory, we own and maintain our own communications equipment and are prohibited by federal law from receiving payment for our services. ARRL, our national organization, has built relationships with several served agencies including FEMA, Williamson County OEM, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and many others.
We also provide critical communications services (free of charge) for a wide range of public events, such as parades, marathons, recreational and sporting events, etc.
Field Day is our chance to show the science, service, and skill we can offer to our community free of charge. We look forward to the opportunity to show and tell you about amateur radio at our 2026 National Field Day event.
Directions to the WCARC 2026 Field Day Site
From the west Take University Blvd east and cross the 130 Toll road. University Blvd. becomes Chandler Rd. Turn Left at CR107 Spur (this road is just east of and adjacent to the Quik Trip service station and mini-mart). Proceed north on CR107 Spur for about 0.3 mile then turn Right and continue on CR107 for about 0.46 mile. Then turn Left onto Family Circle and proceed north for about 0.55 mile. At the “Y” stay to the Right and enter Bliss Ranch (400 Family Circle, Hutto, TX.).
From the east Take Chandler Rd. west towards the 130 Toll Road. Turn Right at CR107 Spur (this road is just east of and adjacent to the Quik Trip service station and mini-mart). Proceed north on CR107 Spur
for about 0.3 mile then turn Right and continue on CR107 for about 0.46 mile. Then turn Left onto Family Circle and proceed north for about 0.55 mile. At the “Y” stay to the Right and enter Bliss Ranch (400 Family Circle, Hutto, TX.).
