TX City Outsources Ambulance Billing (jems.com) — Odessa residents who use city ambulance services will soon receive their bills from private billing company Emergicon instead of the city's Billing and Collection Department, starting October 1. The city says the switch should simplify billing and give patients a dedicated contact for questions about insurance, charges, and payments.
   

2. IDEA Schools to offer free dinners to children (newswest9.com) — Starting October 1, children 18 and under in Odessa can get free supper meals at IDEA Public Schools campuses, even if they don't attend IDEA. Meal times vary by campus, and each supper will include balanced options like proteins, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and milk, helping ensure local kids have reliable evening nutrition.
   

3. 10th Annual Recycle Fashion Show brings 'Rebirth in Pink' to Odessa (yourbasin.com) — A major eco-themed fashion fundraiser is coming to downtown Odessa on October 16, with Keep Odessa Beautiful's 10th Annual Recycle Fashion Show at the Odessa Marriott. Residents can buy tickets or tables now to see recycled-material runway designs, support local beautification and recycling education programs, and connect with neighbors interested in a cleaner, greener community.
   

4. Murry Fly celebrates refreshed library (star-telegram.com) — Students at Murry Fly Elementary in Odessa now have a completely refreshed library, the first campus upgraded through the Education Foundation of Odessa's $1 million ECISD Library Refresh Project. The new space features modern furnishings, a Makerspace, and even a Seed Library to connect kids and families with gardening, nutrition, and hands-on learning beyond the classroom.
   

5. Odessa man arrested following alleged protective order violation (newswest9.com) — An Odessa man was arrested after police say he violated a protective order and assaulted a woman before allegedly interfering with her 911 call. Officers reported visible injuries, reviewed the emergency call, and later booked him into the Ector County Detention Center on multiple charges, where he remains on bond.
