Poet’s Walk, A Juniper Community, will host a special educational presentation featuring nationally recognized dementia experts Dr. Christopher Johnson and Dr. Roxanna Johnson.
Titled “The Time Travel Model for Alzheimer’s: A New Perspective for Caregivers,” the presentation will introduce an innovative approach to communicating with and caring for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Attendees will learn how the “Time Travel” approach can help caregivers better understand the perspective of a person living with dementia, while providing practical strategies for building trust, preserving dignity and strengthening connections with loved ones.
Dr. Christopher Johnson, Ph.D., is a clinical professor of sociology at Texas State University and creator of the university’s M.S. graduate program in Dementia & Aging Studies.
Dr. Roxanna Johnson, Ph.D., holds an M.S. in gerontology and a Ph.D. in dementia studies and is co-founder of Aging Consultants. She is an internationally recognized speaker on dementia care and therapeutic environments and an award-winning expert in dementia-friendly interior and exterior design.
