SHOWTIMES: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. By day, he’s a respected local cancer surgeon. By night, he’s a jazz-playing violinist. And rarely do the two lives meet.
“A lot of my patients are surprised when they find out, and a lot of the people I play jazz with are surprised when they learn I’m a doctor,” Roseman has told the media. “It’s an interesting dynamic. I feel lucky that I have a job – I call it my ‘day gig’ sometimes – that allows me to do both of these things.
“I have the best of both worlds. I don’t have the pressure of having to make a living doing this music, and considering that it doesn’t pay much of anything to perform jazz, that’s a good thing.”
What it lacks in monetary reward, however, it more than makes up for artistically and spiritually. SHOWTIMES: 7PM AND 9PM. Wendee always wanted to use her music to bring joy and healing to those listening to her. An experienced jazz/cabaret/retro-pop vocalist, Wendee Glick is a singer with a strong stage presence, sense of humor, and ability to belt out a tune. She can engage the audience in the up-tempo, or make them weep over a ballad sung with a distinctive quality. Classically trained, she started performing musical theater and opera but soon came to love cabaret and jazz, influenced by legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Mel Torme’ and Linda Ronstadt.
In this special performance-by-request, Wendee’s celebrates the music of one of the greatest–Barbra Streisand. Even though the summer has barely begun, we are busy getting ready for the next school year with our Back 2 School Campaign!
Children living in group homes and shelters that may face an uncertain future, need reassurance they will have ample school supplies and a new book bag, even if they aren't quite ready for a new school year! If students arrive on the first day of school physically and emotionally prepared to learn, their chances of success are greater! For more than 32 years, our steadfast goal remains that we will provide homeless and underserved children in our community with the tools they need to learn….and succeed!
We need enthusiastic people to spread the word about our Back 2 School campaign and rally friends, family, work colleagues, neighborhood, church, and social/civic groups to collect NEW book bags and school supplies. Every item collected will go to children in need and every donation is appreciated.
We welcome individuals and groups to rise up to the challenge of helping deserving kids! Start your collection today and plan to drop off your donations on July 23-24. .&nbsp;
