Festival Napa Valley kicks off its 20th Anniversary Season with a festive Opening Night led by conductor <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/artists/stephanie-childress/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Stephanie Childress</a>, celebrating classical masterworks, world premieres, and iconic songs by American composers. 
The program features Beethoven's Coriolan Overture alongside the premiere of a concerto by composer Michael Thurber, commissioned by Festival Napa Valley and written especially for the Grammy Award-winning ensemble <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/artists/time-for-three/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Time for Three</a>. Also on the program is Young America, a six-movement cycle for chorus and orchestra by acclaimed composer <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/artists/gordon-getty/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Gordon Getty</a>, performed by the <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/artists/young-people-s-chorus-of-new-york-city/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Young People's Chorus of New York City</a> under the artistic direction of Francisco J. Nuñez. 
The evening culminates in a symphonic reimagining of songs by Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, and others – an exhilarating finale that sets the tone for the landmark anniversary season ahead.

Soprano <a href="https://reneefleming.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Renée Fleming</a> returns to Festival Napa Valley in Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene, a multimedia concert inspired by her 2023 Grammy Award-winning album.
Accompanied by an original film curated by the National Geographic Society, the program weaves together Romantic-era art songs by Grieg, Liszt, Fauré, and Hahn with works by contemporary composers including Nico Muhly, Caroline Shaw and Kevin Puts, exploring nature as both inspiration and casualty of humanity.
Also on the program, dynamic sister duo and Bouchaine Young Artists <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/artists/hina-fiona/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Hina &amp; Fiona</a> perform the world premiere of celebrated composer John Corigliano's The Red Violin: Suite for Two Violins and Orchestra, commissioned by Festival Napa Valley.

Experience the enchantment of La Dolce Vita at this special evening dedicated to the artistic legacy of Luciano Pavarotti, one of the world's most celebrated tenors and cultural ambassadors. 
The evening begins at Charles Krug Winery, where Festival Napa Valley pays tribute to Pavarotti's extraordinary impact on opera and his lasting influence on generations of singers and audiences.
This symphonic program highlights his enduring legacy. Festival Napa Valley alumna Michelle Di Russo, recipient of the <a href="https://festivalnapavalley.org/programs/joel-revzen-conducting-prize/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">2022 Joel Revzen Conducting Prize</a>, leads the winners of the 2026 Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition – presenting a new generation of artists shaped by the standards he set.

Maria Manetti Celebrates La Dolce Vita! honoring Luciano Pavarotti 

Rediscover the 1939 Technicolor classic The Wizard of Oz as it returns to the big screen in a spectacular live-to-picture performance presented by Festival Napa Valley with Festival Orchestra Napa, conducted by Ming Luke. Follow Dorothy and her companions on their journey from Kansas to the Emerald City along the Yellow Brick Road, as Herbert Stothart's iconic score is performed live alongside the film.
Featuring Judy Garland's original studio recordings and treasured songs including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "The Merry Old Land of Oz," this concert will thrill adults and children alike. 
The performance run time is approximately 2 hours 45 minutes, including a 1-hour intermission.
