Doylestown, PA – (<a href="https://chop.donordrive.com/campaigns/Team-Connor-2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Team Connor 2026</a>)Central Bucks East High School Football will host their home opener Friday, September 4th at 7:00 PM at Patriot Stadium in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness and former student-athlete Connor Boyle, whose life and legacy continue to inspire the community.


Connor, a beloved CB East football and baseball player, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in 2019. With “Uncommon Grit”—Connor endured countless procedures and treatments, ultimately graduating in 2022 with a 4.0 GPA. Accepted into Villanova University, Connor tragically passed away in August 2022, but his spirit of perseverance, grace, and kindness continues to inspire family, friends, teammates, and the broader community.
One of Connor’s wishes was to raise awareness regarding Osteosarcoma to generate more funding and research to find a cure. In 2023, The Connor Initiative: Precision Therapeutics for Osteosarcoma &amp; Rare Cancers, was established at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to support cutting-edge research in osteosarcoma and other rare cancers.
“Connor embodied grit, grace, and perseverance, both on and off the field. Honoring him through this game is a way for our athletes, families, and community to ensure his legacy lives on while supporting a cause that was close to his heart,” said CB East Football head coach, John Donnelly.
Throughout the game donations will be accepted and Team Connor t-shirts will be available for sale inside the stadium entrance. CB&nbsp;East Football invites anyone to stop by the Team Connor table or make a donation through the website below. All proceeds raised will benefit The Connor Initiative. We explore and demonstrate the power a tiny seed, nut or berry holds for our native ecosystems and how the food web creates and sustains plants, insects, birds and wildlife!Nature Play activities and crafts will be offered throughout the Preserve's walking trails and exhibits, including favorite locales like the New Pond, Sycamore Hollows and Storybook Trail. Please note that most activities are designed for children 12 and under.Our main stage at the Stone Bridge will feature live music from Lolly Hopwood, a woodland dance party, storytime and an interactive program from Aark Wildlife Education Center. Our Visitor Center parking lot will feature 2 food trucks with savory and sweet menu options for purchase, family picnic seating and fun activities like face painting. Our Twinleaf Book &amp; Gift Shop will feature family-friendly books, T-shirts and nature-inspired goodies to peruse.Our Auditorium will serve as a Quiet Zone for birdwatching and a quieter atmosphere. Calling all families - children, parents, grandparents, neighbors, classmates and friends! We look forward to seeing you for a day of fun and exploration and a celebration of nature.Preserve @ Play is a rain-or-shine event.
