workshop led by best-selling author Barbara Josselsohn.
How
 many times has someone said, “You should write that down!” after you’ve
 shared a favorite family anecdote? Maybe it’s the way your grandparents
 met, the courage of a relative who shipped off to war, or the small 
business your great-grandmother built while raising six children. Maybe 
it’s a more recent memory: a near-disastrous roller coaster ride, a 
birthday party that almost wasn’t, or the quiet moment you realized your
 child wasn’t a baby anymore.
Before
 the workshop, we encourage you to look through old photos, letters, and
 keepsakes, and reflect on meaningful moments. We’ll help you shape your
 ideas into a strong draft, with a clear plan for moving forward.

In this course, we’ll explore brush techniques, character structure, and the beauty of different script styles. Through
 guided exercises on lines, pressure, and movement, students will learn 
to connect mind, breath, and brush—discovering a state of flow through 
ink.
 No experience is needed—just
 curiosity and a calm mind. You may be surprised at how meditative and 
grounding the rhythm of ink can be!
<h3>About the Instructor</h3>
Sinrong Chen
is an artist whose practice bridges the traditions of Chinese 
calligraphy and ink painting with a contemporary sensibility. She has 
developed a style that emphasizes the fluidity of brushwork and the 
meditative rhythm of ink on paper. Her paintings often draw inspiration 
from nature—birds, flowers, and flowing forms—expressed through bold 
brushstrokes that celebrate both discipline and spontaneity. She sees 
the act of painting as a dialogue between control and chance, where each
 stroke captures a fleeting moment of flow.

 presents an enchanting double bill that celebrates both tradition and 
innovation in dance. Audiences of all ages are invited to experience the
 timeless folk tale Little Red Riding Hood alongside a bold, contemporary reimagining of the romantic ballet La Sylphide.
This
 vibrant production brings together youth and adult students from our 
dance school with professional artists from our in-residence company, 
Hudson Ballet Theatre, highlighting the depth, diversity, and high level
 of artistry cultivated within our community. Playful, expressive, and 
technically accomplished, this performance reflects our commitment to 
dance education and excellence across generations.

Finally. An answer to the question that has plagued scientists, theologians, and comedians for millennia: Will Judaism survive in space?
Come enjoy a screening of the documentary Fiddler on the Moon: Judaism in Space—with&nbsp;astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, astronauts Jeffrey Hoffman and Jessica Meir, and a quorum of rabbis and researchers—which explores how Jewish traditions could be practiced in space. Guest speakers from <a href="https://westchesterastronomers.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Westchester Amateur Astronomers</a> (WAA) will hold a discussion after the screening.
A light lunch will be served.

<h3>About Westchester Amateur Astronomers</h3>
WAA
 is a not-for-profit organization open to people of all ages with the 
desire to learn more about astronomy and who share an interest in 
viewing the universe. We range from enthusiastic amateurs and educators 
to casual stargazers and families.
WAA was founded by three 
friends who wanted to help the general public see Halley’s Comet during 
its 1986 fly-by. They went on to found Westchester Amateur Astronomers 
in 1991. Activities include monthly presentations by respected names in 
astronomy and related sciences and observing nights beneath 
Westchester’s darkest skies.

 delightful coming-of-age gem captures all the awkward charm and 
big-hearted earnestness of Jewish teenage life in suburban White Plains.
Sixteen-year-old Julie (Anna Mirodin from Priscilla)
 thought she’d be hosting a female exchange student for three months—but
 when the charming and effortlessly cool Juan Jose Mundo (Alexandro 
Byrd) shows up from Spain, everything changes. The guys want to be him, 
the girls want to be with him, and poor Julie can’t help but fall head 
over heels. With the help of her bold best friend Suzanne (Hannah Kepple
 from Cobra Kai), Julie must find the courage to say how she 
feels before Juan’s American adventure comes to an end. What follows is a
 sweet, nostalgic journey through first crushes, loyal friendships, and 
the courage it takes to speak up for yourself.
This 92–minute film recently won the Next Wave Jury Prize at the Miami Jewish Film Festival.
This special event will feature a post-film discussion with director Michael Walker&nbsp;and writer Susan Gomes.

In
 1907, a Jewish immigrant named Joel Russ landed in New York City, where
 he took a pushcart of herring and built a legendary destination for 
Jewish appetizing that would pass down through his family for more than a
 hundred years. Four generations later, the ancestral heart of Russ 
&amp; Daughters continues to thrive on the Lower East Side, with three 
more locations throughout the city.
Encompassing history, tradition, and delicious food, Russ &amp; Daughters: 100 Years of Appetizing
 shares insider anecdotes from the family and characters on both sides 
of the counter. The cookbook includes guides to its most famed 
offerings—smoked salmon, sable, sturgeon, herring, and caviar—plus over 
100 recipes for latkes, matzo ball soup, babka, and bagels, among other 
favorites.
Cousins Niki Russ Federman and Josh Russ Tupper are co-owners of Russ &amp; Daughters and will be in conversation with local chef and writer Danielle Colen.
