Storytime Yoga will provide an opportunity for children to explore themselves, the world around them, and their imaginations through mindful movement and children’s literature.&nbsp; 
This active and engaging class is designed for caregivers and their children ages 18 months to five years.

Join natural dyer and textile artist Laura Hricko for a hands-on workshop in the garden, where the surrounding landscape will serve as both inspiration and resource. Using locally grown and native dye flowers and foliage, this workshop will guide you through the natural dye technique known as “eco-printing” to design an organic cotton bandana and a silk scarf. As we work, Laura will discuss the fundamentals of natural dyeing, including fiber preparation, plant selection, and the unique qualities of plant dyes. While surrounded by the biodiversity that Stoneleigh’s gardens celebrate, you’ll experience the magic of coaxing color from plants to create lasting prints on fabric and deepen your understanding of sustainable textile art.&nbsp; 
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience, ages 12+.&nbsp;

Mindful birding combines observing birds with mindfulness techniques, creating a practice that incorporates heightened awareness. Labeling or identifying birds is not the primary focus. Instead, the intention is to slow down and notice the world around us, using birds as our guides. During this guided experience, you’ll practice simple mindfulness exercises to engage sensory awareness while intentionally tuning into the birds surrounding you.&nbsp; 
Techniques and prompts accompany this gently guided walk and/or “sit spot” experience, which strive to enhance our observation skills, promoting a deepening of our experiences with birds around us. This in turn amplifies the multitude of benefits birds provide to our overall wellbeing. Participants will also be provided “Ornitherapy Journals” and select prompts to increase observation and awareness and provide a takeaway from the experience.&nbsp;&nbsp; 
No prior experience with birds or mindfulness practice are necessary to attend.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Alderfer Auction is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new satellite sales office in Wayne, PA, starting Wednesday, October 7th.
Located at 303 West Lancaster Ave, Suite 2C (above The UPS Store), the office will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins are welcome with a limit of two items. For larger collections, please arrange a dedicated in-home consultation. To schedule an appointment, email preview@alderferauction.com or call 215-393-3000.
The Wayne office will be led by Allyson Babcock, an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America with over 15 years of experience in the auction and appraising industry. <h1>From Childhood to Independence: A Night at Longwood Gardens with Amigos de Jesús</h1>
In a country where poverty, limited educational opportunities and economic insecurity can leave young people with few choices for their futures, Amigos de Jesús is working to create another possibility: helping vulnerable children grow into educated, healthy and independent adults with the skills and opportunities to build their lives in Honduras.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Amigos de Jesús will bring that story to Longwood Gardens for Growing Together with Amigos, an evening celebrating the children and young adults of Amigos and inviting the greater Philadelphia community to become part of their journey.
Amigos de Jesús provides a safe and nurturing home for vulnerable children in Honduras, but its work does not end with providing a safe place to live. The organization walks alongside children from childhood into adulthood, providing education, healthcare, emotional support, faith formation, life skills and opportunities designed to prepare them for healthy, independent lives.
“Our goal isn't simply to care for a child today,” said Kelley Jackson, President and CEO of Amigos de Jesús. “We have to ask what success looks like when that child becomes an adult. Are they educated? Are they healthy? Do they have the skills and confidence to work, manage their lives and build a future within the realities of Honduras? That is the journey we are committed to.”
Guests attending Growing Together with Amigos are invited to enjoy Longwood Gardens throughout the day before gathering in the Fountain Room from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, stories and updates from Honduras, and a private illuminated fountain show.
The evening is designed not only to raise critical funds for the mission, but also to introduce new people throughout the region to Amigos de Jesús and the many ways individuals, families, schools, churches and businesses can become involved.
Tickets are $200 per person and include untimed admission to Longwood Gardens for the day, the evening reception and private illuminated fountain show.
