<p>History is coming off the pages and onto the streets this June. The Middlesex Parish 250 Committee is proud to invite the community to the <strong>Revolutionary Road Tour on June 13th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.</strong> This free, self-guided event for all ages offers a unique opportunity for families and history buffs alike to explore 15 local sites that played pivotal roles in the American Revolution.</p>
<p>The tour spans the scenic landscapes of Darien, Rowayton, and Norwalk, transforming the local commute into a journey through the 18th century. Attendees will experience history firsthand through engaging storytelling, live reenactments, period-accurate games, and the unveiling of historic markers. All sites on the “road trip” will be open, with greeters and historic information.</p>
<p>The immersive community experience allows families to walk the same ground as the patriots and loyalists who shaped these towns, connecting our modern lives to the incredible stories right in our own backyards.</p>
<p><strong>Featured stops on the tour include:</strong></p>
<ul>
 <li><strong>The Mather Homestead:</strong> The site of a      dramatic Loyalist raid where Joseph Mather was arrested and stolen silver      was famously hidden in the well.</li>
 <li><strong>The First      Congregational Church of Darien:</strong> Where a minister and 50 men were      captured by Tories during a Sunday service and sent off to Long Island      jails.</li>
 <li><strong>The Fitch Law Office      in Norwalk:</strong> A      rare architectural survivor that stood its ground during the British      burning of Norwalk.</li>
 <li><strong>Highland Farm:</strong> Offering a      literal walk-through history on preserved lands.</li>
 <li><strong>The Museum of Darien/Bates Schofield House:</strong> Tour the <i>War Comes to Middlesex</i> exhibition, explore      the 1736 Colonial Saltbox house with expert guides, and indulge in a taste      of history with traditional colonial hot chocolate served by The Pewter      Pot Chocolatier. Children will also enjoy a seed planting project with      members of the Darien Library and the Garden Club of Darien, taking home a      sample of historic, heirloom herbs found in the museum’s memorial garden.</li>

<p>Join us for the 2026 Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund Benefit Car Show, which will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM&nbsp;at Town Hall, located at 101 Field Point Road in Greenwich. </p>
<p>In the event of rain, the rain date will be Sunday, June 7, 2026.The popular community event will feature a wide array of classic, antique, custom, and exotic cars all on display in the heart of Greenwich. </p>
<p>The car show is free for spectators and open to the public.The Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund invites car owners to sign up for pre-registration for $20 per vehicle by June 4.<br><a href="https://www.gpdscholarshipfund.org/gpdsf-car-show/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><u>https://www.gpdscholarshipfund.org/gpdsf-car-show/</u></a></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gpdscholarshipfund.org/gpdsf-car-show/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><u></u></a>The event is open to car clubs, and same-day registration will be available at the entrance if space permits for $25 per vehicle. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund. The family-friendly event will feature a DJ, a 50/50 raffle, food trucks, and more, creating a festive atmosphere for car enthusiasts and families alike.</p>
<p>Sponsorship opportunities begin at just $50, with options such as $125 for a Trophy Sponsor&nbsp;and $250 for an on-site sponsor package. Automobile dealership opportunities begin at $500, which includes on-site participation and the opportunity to display a vehicle. Greenwich Magazine/Moffly Media will once again serve as the exclusive media sponsor.</p>
<p>“This year’s car show is especially meaningful as the Greenwich Police Department celebrates 130 years of service to the community,” said Chief of Police James Heavey. “For more than a century, our officers have worked to protect and serve the residents of Greenwich with professionalism and dedication. The Scholarship Fund reflects our commitment to supporting the families of those officers, and the car show is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate that legacy, and help invest in the next generation.”</p>
<p>Children of Greenwich Police officers who demonstrate ability, character, and academic promise&nbsp;and who qualify for undergraduate studies&nbsp;are eligible to receive financial assistance through the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund.</p>

<p>Wheeler-Brown’s book explores the history of Delftware ceramics, focusing on the often-overlooked roles of women as makers, patrons, and collectors, from 17th-century factory owners like&nbsp;<strong>Barbara Rotteveel</strong>&nbsp;to <strong>Gilded Age</strong> collectors like&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. J. Pierpont Morgan</strong>. A must for devotees of decorative arts and the history of material culture. </p>

<p>Founding Genevieve Wheeler Decorative Art Advisory in 2003, Genevieve comes to the advisory business with more than 12 years of experience in the auction world, strong generalist knowledge and a wide range of contacts in American, European and Asian decorative and fine arts.</p>
<p>Genevieve began her career with Christie’s in 1992 with the European Decorative Arts Department after working as an intern at The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C. in 1990. She was then asked to run Overseas Consignments at Christie’s Park Avenue, a department that handled inquiries for European based auctions including Indian and Southeast Asian art, Islamic Art, Miniatures, Textiles and Cameras. In 1995 Genevieve became the New York contact for sales of Fabergé and Russian Silver at Christie’s Park Avenue and most recently was as a specialist in Fine Musical Instruments at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from 1998 to 2003.</p>
<p>While at Christie’s, she was involved with important sales such as ‘The Pine Cone Egg’ by Carl Fabergé and ‘The Taft’ Stradivari which fetched the auction record for an instrument sold in the United States. She has also been an appraiser on the PBS production ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.</p>
<p>A supporter of several fine and decorative art related institutions, Genevieve has served on the Board of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, served as a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection from 1995 to 2005 and co-Chaired the Winter Antiques Show Young Collector’s Night, New York in 2004, 2005, and 2006.</p>
<p>Genevieve currently advises several organizations including <a href="https://www.dumbartonhouse.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dumbarton House</a>, a Federal period house museum in Georgetown, as a board member as well as for <a href="https://www.thewintershow.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Winter Show</a> as a vice-chair of Opening Night and as co-founder of The Winter Show Luncheon.</p><p><strong>About The Jay Heritage Center</strong></p>
<p>The nonprofit Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and revitalizing a place that has meaning for all Americans: The Jay Estate.
