Get ready for a Halloween celebration with a fun twist! Emerge Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation in Glen Cove will host a community-wide Trunk or Treat event, inviting residents, families, local elementary schoolchildren and community members to come together for a morning of Halloween fun.
Dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes, children and families can go from car trunk to car trunk collecting yummy treats, while enjoying music, festive activities and costume contests. The event promises plenty of Halloween spirit, smiles and community connection for guests of all ages!

The event is open to residents of Emerge Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation, along with family and friends; local elementary schoolchildren and their families; members of the Glen Cove community.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Emerge Nursing & Rehabilitation to host community trunk or treat in Glen Cove on October 24

A festive Halloween parade featuring 88 costumed first graders from Gribbin Elementary School in Glen Cove will bring Halloween excitement, smiles and plenty of seasonal spirit to nursing home residents. The celebration will feature music, decorations and fanfare, followed by snacks, refreshments and photo opportunities.&nbsp;Just in time for Halloween weekend, these young trick-or-treaters will trade their neighborhood sidewalks for a special parade at Glen Cove Center for Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation. The intergenerational celebration will give residents a chance to enjoy the creativity and excitement of Halloween through the eyes of the next generation—all while creating memorable moments for children, residents and the community.

New this year in honor of the Montgolfier Brothers invention of the hot-air balloon in 1783 - you guessed it - learn all about the thermodynamics of these beautiful aircrafts from <a href="https://www.libertyballoon.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Liberty Balloon Company</a>. The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is a dynamic nonprofit which manages the Jay Estate in Rye, New York. The 23-acre park that they have preserved and interpreted since 1992 is an award-winning culture hub and wildlife refuge on Long Island Sound. Located in the heart of Westchester’s only National Historic Landmark District, the site welcomes visitors April through November to learn about our nation’s flawed yet precious democracy through indoor and outdoor public programs. Offerings about American History feature prominent writers and educators. Free horticulture and birding workshops teach guests about native plants and wildlife. Family-friendly concerts draw hundreds for old-fashioned fun and unplugged enjoyment. The site is a member of NY State's Path Through History and Westchester County's African American Heritage Trail.
