Any adult who has helped a learner—formally or informally—has access to two useful voices: a “Teacher Voice” that provides instruction, information, and sometimes step-by-step directions, and an “Executive Function Coach Voice” that invites thinking, problem-solving, and&nbsp;ownership.
Both are important. The key is knowing which voice the learner needs in the moment — when to step in with direction and when to step back and make room for&nbsp;thinking.
Join Forman School's Cognition and Learning Teacher and Executive Function Coach Robyn Greenspan, Cognition and Learning Head of Department Brittany Bloom-Price, and Director of Cognition and Learning Dr. Kristin Simmers as they share research-informed strategies that work for learners of all ages, with a&nbsp;focus&nbsp;on:

Southbury’s beloved Blues Café returns on Sunday, October 4 with an intimate co‑bill featuring acclaimed singer‑songwriters Meghan Cary and Shanna in a Dress. Held at the George Newton VFW Hall (150 Lee Farm Drive), the afternoon begins with a community potluck at 1 PM, followed by Hilltop Dawgs &amp; Friends from 1:15–2:30 PM. The main performance starts at 3 PM. This volunteer-run series is known for its warm, up‑close listening room and its commitment to supporting independent artists — all net proceeds go directly to the musicians.
