Corlears Hook Park

Friends of Corlears Hook Park is happy to once again bring a safe, outdoor Halloween trick or treating opportunity to the park for all local families to enjoy.

This year we will be partnering with our friends at Henry Street Settlement - who will provide a myriad of other activities and fun to the event - arts & crafts, a DJ, balloon twister, and a special appearance by Spiderman.
As always, we will have various stations set up throughout the park during the event, provided by local families, businesses, and community groups, where kids can safely pick up some Halloween treats. For more information and to sign our kids up in advance, visit our website.

Family-friendly concerts draw hundreds for old-fashioned fun and unplugged enjoyment. The site is a member of NY State's Path Through History and Westchester County's African American Heritage Trail. Church of the Heavenly Rest

Don't miss this unique and wonderful operatic work first performed 100 years ago and recently rediscovered. In honor of the 800th anniversary of St. Francis, patron saint of animals, nature and peace, Canterbury Choral Society will perform the Oratorio this Sunday October 25th with professional soloists, chorus and full orchestra. One performance only! Popular Tenor Blake Friedman sings the part of St. Francis.
In 1916 The American Press described the work as "sublime, with passages of extraordinary beauty". Canterbury conductor Jonathan De Vries confirmed "This is a beautiful work in the Italian operatic tradition, very lyrical, with moving arias and choral interludes." First performed in October 1916 by the Metropolitan Opera at Carnegie Hall, the Oratorio was lost until 2006. Tickets are $35, booked in advance through Eventbrite.com or $40 cash at the door. For more information about this unique work and the story of how it was rediscovered go to www.canterburychoral.org.
