There’s something about glass in a garden that just feels a little magical. In this spring class, you can create your own vibrant garden stakes that catch the light and seem ready to take flight among your flowers. 
Follow your curiosity into something more playful and unexpected, like a cute bird, gnome flower, or go classic with rectangle or square, either way, you’ll leave with a piece that brings color, movement, and a touch of joy to your outdoor space. This is a beginner to advanced beginner class depending on what you would like to make.

Give your garden a little love, and a place for pollinators to land. In this class, you’ll create a small glass bowl designed to safely offer water to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. With a gently raised pebble center for easy perching, each piece is as functional as it is beautiful. Using vibrant frit and glass shards, you’ll design a bright, flower-inspired bowl that catches the light while quietly supporting the life that keeps your garden thriving.

Create a vibrant, freestanding glass garden that feels alive with color, texture, and movement. Designed specifically for advanced beginners and intermediate students, this is a focused, skill-building class where we work step by step toward a finished piece together.
In the first session, you’ll design and create your dimensional elements, adding depth and personality to your scene. After the initial firing, we return for session two to thoughtfully compose and assemble your full panel, about 8" x 5", before its final firing.This is an advanced beginner (or higher) class. We will certainly do a refresher for those for whom it's been a minute since your last glass cutting experience but we are not doing a full beginner class. &nbsp;The focus will be on sifting, making wafers, creating cabochons, all the elements that make this piece extra special.&nbsp;This photo shows a half completed piece. there will be more color and components when it is done.

Curious about glass fusing or ready to build on what you already know? This flexible, hands-on class is a great place to start or stretch your skills.
We begin with a brief, engaging overview of glass, its unique properties, and a bit of its history. You’ll then watch a live demonstration covering how to safely and confidently use the tools for cutting and shaping glass. After that, you practice with the tools and then jump in and start creating. We’ll walk through sample pieces together and talk about what makes designs successful, so you can make informed, confident choices as you work.

This class is designed to give you freedom within a supportive structure. Your base project includes up to 16 square inches of glass, with plenty of options to choose from.

The Spring Splash is brought to you the Madison Jaycees, a 70-year-old, volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of those who live along the central CT shoreline. &nbsp;Over the past 10 years, we have donated over half a million dollars to families and local charities in need. &nbsp;The Jaycees also award annual College Scholarships to deserving graduates of Daniel Hand and Guilford High Schools.
