Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series presents Vet Songs

Born in Richmond, VA, Greg Greenway moved to Boston and became a standout voice in its folk music scene. Influenced by Richie Havens and Eric Andersen, he developed a genre-defying, multi-instrumental style blending folk, gospel, rock, blues, jazz, and world music. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered and Mountain Stage, though he cites hearing his song “Driving in Massachusetts” on Car Talk as a personal highlight.
Greenway’s eight-year collaboration with Pat Wictor and Joe Jencks as Brother Sun produced two #1 Folk DJ albums and reached wide audiences. His current project with Reggie Harris, Deeper Than The Skin, explores race and shared history in America. Widely praised, critics hail him as a powerful, genre-crossing artist with exceptional stage presence.The music of genre-blending singer-songwriter Jenna Nicholls evokes the golden age of the American Songbook, infused with the spirit of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and vintage Americana. Contra is the perfect social dance for new dancers. The beginners’ lesson at the start is all you need to enjoy your first evening of dancing. Contra dancing is a fun, easy-to-learn style of social dance in a supportive, inter-generational, inclusive community. It’s the cool cousin to square dancing—with hot live bands. A hot band is exactly what we have for this dance with Spintuition&nbsp;playing amazing tunes with Greg Frock&nbsp;calling the dance moves. 
If you are new to contra dancing, come for our evening dance on any first and third Saturday evening. Knowing how to dance is not necessary since the caller prompts the moves and guides the dancers. A lesson is given at 7pm prior to the dance to learn basic terminology and some of the dance moves. It’s fine to come alone since folks switch partners between each dance.

An Essex County home inspector has built a free website that lets anyone look up the public records behind a New Jersey property &mdash; building permits, flood zones, fire history, property taxes, and more &mdash; by typing in an address.
The site, Permit &amp; Parcel (oprasearch.app), covers all 564 New Jersey municipalities and pulls only from official sources: state and county databases, FEMA flood maps, and the towns' own municipal codes. There's no account, no email capture, and no cost.
"I kept watching buyers fall in love with a house before anyone checked the paper trail &mdash; the open permits, the flood zone, what the town actually requires when a home changes hands," said Leo Betancor, a Certified Master Inspector based in Cedar Grove and the founder of the site. "All of that is public record. It just wasn't in one place anyone could actually use."
Alongside the main lookup, the site includes free single-purpose tools: a lead-safe inspection lookup showing which of the two state-required inspection methods each town uses under New Jersey's lead paint law, a searchable directory of every DCA-certified lead evaluation and abatement contractor sorted by distance, a fire-incident map built from more than 40 years of state fire records, and a radon map covering every municipality.
A companion site, njflood.zone, gives instant FEMA flood-zone answers for any New Jersey address &mdash; built after the federal government shutdown left FEMA's own map site unreliable &mdash; running on the site's own servers with the complete flood map data for the state loaded locally.
The project was recently featured in <a href="https://www.tapinto.net/towns/east-hanover-slash-florham-park/columns/at-home-with-holly/articles/deep-dive-conversations-what-the-house-won-t-tell-you" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">TAPinto</a>'s "At Home with Holly" column.
