The Long Beach Latino Civic Association (LBLCA), in partnership with the City of Long Beach, invites the community to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month at the annual Hispanic Heritage Month Kite Flying Festival on Sunday, September 27, from 2-5pm in Long Beach. There will also be a beach cleanup from 2-3pm. 
 Join the Long Beach Latino Civic Association and City of Long Beach for a free, family-friendly celebration featuring kite flying, live entertainment, cultural performances, and a community beach cleanup. This inclusive event brings together residents of all backgrounds to enjoy local vendors and family activities along the beach.

This signature event serves as a vital fundraiser to support artistic expression, arts education, and cultural enrichment throughout Freeport and its surrounding communities.&nbsp; The 2026 Arty Party will feature an awards ceremony where the LIACF board will recognize four distinguished individuals and&nbsp;an organization for their significant contributions to the local cultural landscape: &nbsp; - Kirk Larsen: The Arts Recognition (ARTY) Tribute Award&nbsp; - Jack Holly: The Founders Award &nbsp; - Greg Ingino: The Community Service Award &nbsp; - Toby Walker: The Alexander Schanzer Memorial Smart with Art Award &nbsp; - Holocaust Memorial &amp;&nbsp;Tolerance Center: Education Through the Arts Award “The arts are a powerful force for bringing people together, fostering creativity, and building vibrant communities,” said Laurence Dresner, Executive Director of LIACF. “We are proud to provide inclusive opportunities while ensuring these programs remain accessible to all.” Proceeds from the event directly fund the Council’s mission, with 100% of contributions dedicated to maintaining diverse and accessible year-round programming and services for the community.
