This Hip Hop class presented by Our Fabulous Variety Show focuses on self-expression, confident movement, and finding your own unique style. Dancers will build their skills through dynamic choreography, Hip Hop fundamentals, weekly combinations, and freestyle movement, with opportunities to challenge themselves and grow at their own level. Each class includes a warm-up, technique and foundational work, choreography, and time to explore individual style. Come ready to move, let loose, and most importantly have fun! Class is open to grade 3-6.

Join Our Fabulous Variety Show after school for a weekly Performing Arts Club focused on the magic of theatre! Students will build confidence, strengthen public speaking skills, spark creativity, and have a ton of fun through acting games, character-building exercises, ensemble activities, and imaginative storytelling. Each week, our teaching artists will guide students in exploring their voices, bodies, and imaginations as they work together to create scenes, develop performance skills, and express themselves in a supportive and playful environment. A snack will be provided as well. We&nbsp; recommend that students wear comfortable shoes to move in and bring a refillable water bottle. Students will be walked over from JMMES after school at 3pm. Club only meets on days that school is in session: 9/14, 9/28, 10/5, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16 and 11/23&nbsp; There is no Page to Stage Club on 9/21 and 10/12.

Designed for middle and high school students with 2–3 years of lyrical or contemporary dance experience, this 90-minute Our Fabulous Variety Show class gives students the opportunity to deepen their technique, build strength and endurance, and grow as expressive dancers. Students will build upon their foundation in ballet and jazz while exploring Contemporary, a blend of jazz, modern, and lyrical that emphasizes expressive movement, and Lyrical, a blend of ballet and jazz that focuses on the storytelling quality of music. Classes will incorporate dedicated technique and dance conditioning, including floor work, across-the-floor combinations, strengthening exercises, and improvisation, while encouraging students to develop their individuality and self-expression as dancers.

Intermediate/Advanced Lyrical/Contemporary + Technique

Join Our Fabulous Variety Show after school for Club Dance, a weekly dance program where students can explore the joy of movement and try a variety of genres! Students will build confidence, coordination, and performance skills while learning choreography and exploring genres including tap, hip hop, ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and more. Each week, our teaching artists will introduce students to a different style of dance through fun combinations, technique, and performance activities. Club Dance is a great way for students to experience multiple genres of dance all in one program, without adding multiple nights to the family schedule! No previous dance experience is required. A snack will be provided as well. We recommend that students wear comfortable clothing and bring a refillable water bottle. Students that don't have dance shoes will be provided with them. Students will be walked over from JMMES after school at 3pm. Club Dance only meets on days that school is in session Tuesday September 15 - Tuesday, November 24. No class on November 3.

The Seafood Festival started over 10 years ago as a joint fundraiser to support both groups’ charitable interests here on the east end.

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.
