Get ready for a fun, hands-on day of learning and riding at the Youth Bike Safety Rodeo—designed for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade and powered by an incredible team of community volunteers. Hosted by the Stillwater Police Department, this free event gives young riders the chance to build confidence and learn essential bike safety skills through an interactive course led by the Stillwater Police Bike Patrol Unit and the Stillwater Area High School Mountain Bike Team.

Participants will move through guided riding stations, receive helmet safety checks, and celebrate their progress at the finish line with prizes and recognition. At the same time, volunteers play a key role in making the event run smoothly—supporting everything from registration and helmet fitting to course instruction, ride leadership, food service, and photography.

Whether you're signing up a young rider or stepping in to support as a volunteer, this event is all about building safer riders, stronger community connections, and a lifelong love of biking.

Take a meaningful lunch break and help care for our local environment.
In recognition of International Environment Day, Sustainable Stillwater MN is hosting a midday Trash Dash at Lowell Park. This quick, one-hour cleanup offers a simple way to make a visible impact while connecting with others who care about the health of our community and natural spaces.
After a brief welcome and safety overview, volunteers will spread out in small groups to collect litter in the surrounding park area. No experience is necessary, and all equipment will be provided.
Bring a friend, coworker, or family member and help make a difference in just one hour.

Lumberjack Landing

Sustainable Stillwater MN is seeking volunteers for Lumberjack Landing Planting for Birds, a community habitat restoration event focused on improving bird habitat and biodiversity along the St. Croix River flyway. Volunteers will help plant approximately 175 native, climate-resilient trees and shrubs at Lumberjack Landing Park on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.
This hands-on project is open to all experience levels and is part of Sustainable Stillwater MN’s Bird City program in partnership with the City of Stillwater. Volunteers should bring gloves, a shovel, water, and weather-appropriate clothing.

By removing litter from parks and public spaces, volunteers help prevent pollution, protect wildlife, and contribute to a healthier ecosystem.
The event includes a short welcome, 30-45 minutes of cleanup, and a group photo celebrating the impact we made together.
All equipment will be provided—just bring comfortable shoes and a willingness to help care for the place we call home.
