The Community of Character Scholarship honors the memory of Juanita Haugen, trustee and president of Pleasanton School Boards for 28 years. Juanita had a passion for children and was a leader in the district’s character education program and in establishing the “Community of Character Collaborative”. Juanita passed away in 2007.

Experience the power and complexity of Afro-Cuban rhythm with The Oru Jazz Collective, a dynamic Latin jazz quartet based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The group takes its name from the traditional Oru—a sacred sequence of rhythms performed in Afro-Cuban Santería ceremonies. Drawing inspiration from these foundational rhythmic traditions, the quartet creates a vibrant sound rooted in Cuban music while embracing the freedom, sophistication, and improvisational spirit of modern jazz.

Featuring piano, congas, drum set, and bass, The Oru Jazz Collective explores intricate rhythmic interplay, driving grooves, and spontaneous musical conversation. Their performances bridge classic Cuban descargas—high-energy instrumental jam sessions—with contemporary jazz harmony and improvisation.

Join us at Meyhouse Jazz for an evening of deep rhythm, rich musical tradition, and electrifying ensemble interplay.

Party attendees will taste 6 wines total, 4 of which (the NEW 2024 Petit Verdot and 2024 Petite Sirah included) will be paired with cheeses from the Cheese Parlor. Check out the incredible cheese pairings being offered:
2024 Petit Verdot paired with Postel Belgian Washed Rind Gouda A Belgian cow's milk cheese with a washed rind and aged Gouda character. Firm and smooth, with savory depth, caramel sweetness, and a lingering nutty richness.
2024 Petite Sirah paired with Brabander Goat Gouda A Dutch goat's milk cheese aged over 8 months. Bright and creamy, with a clean tang, notes of caramel and toffee, and a smooth, mellow finish.
2022 "Big Wood" Zinfandel paired with Alter Fritz Alpine Cheese A German-style Alpine cow's milk cheese, mountain-aged and firm. Nutty and full-bodied, with savory richness, hints of sweet cream, and a smooth, satisfying finish.
2022 "Muy Bueno" Zinfandel paired with Red Rock Cheddar An American cow's milk cheddar with marbled blue veining. Bold and crumbly, with sharp cheddar tang, earthy blue notes, and a rich, savory finish.
This release party is open to both members and non-members. Tickets are priced at $10 for Club Members and their guests, and $30 for Non-Club Members. Additionally, $10 will be refunded for every bottle purchased, up to the price of admission. We hope to see you there!

Eastbay Motorcars is looking for a dependable, motivated individual to join our team! If you like staying active, working with cars, and being part of a fast-moving dealership environment &mdash; this is the role for you.
What You'll Do:
-Transport vehicles between our dealership and local vendors (detail shops, service centers, etc.)
-Assist with parts ordering and coordinating reconditioning workflows Keep the showroom clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times Maintain lot organization &mdash; vehicle placement, signage, and presentation
-Support the team with day-to-day operational needs as they arise
-What We're Looking For: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Comfortable driving a variety of vehicles (manual transmission a plus) Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their work Team player who communicates well and follows through Prior dealership experience is a plus &mdash; not required
