Each week, we’ll explore practical methods from Buddhist meditation that help us develop greater clarity, emotional balance, and a more thoughtful way of responding to life. The emphasis is simple: how to take timeless wisdom and apply it in a modern, urban setting.
Whether you’re navigating a busy schedule, relationships, or just looking for a more grounded way to move through your week, these classes offer space to pause, reflect, and reset.

This beginner-friendly silent retreat offers a chance to slow down, unplug, and deeply reset through guided meditation, practical teachings, and quiet reflection. The day is carefully guided and designed to feel accessible and supportive - even if you’ve never attended a retreat before.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone.

Silent Saturdays: A beginners day retreat with Gen Khedrub

In recent years, we have witnessed remarkable material and technological progress, yet this has not been matched by a corresponding increase in human happiness or inner peace. Many of us still experience worry, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future.
In this three-week series, we will explore practical mindfulness methods, helpful ways of thinking, and guided meditations drawn from Buddha’s teachings. These classes are designed to help us become calmer, more resilient, and increasingly fearless in the face of adversity and life’s uncertainties.
Weekly topics: • June 2 – How to begin meditation • June 9 – The flexible mind of patience • June 16 – How to deepen your experience of meditation



Course Tuition: $60
How to register? This class is offered in partnership with Natick Parks and Recreation. Gen Kelsang Khedrub has been a Buddhist monk and meditation teacher for over 30 years, practicing under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He is a Harvard alumnus (AB class of ’92). Gen Khedrub has taught Buddhism and meditation across the country and regularly gives special events at universities and corporate settings. Since 2020 he has been serving as the Resident Teacher at <a href="https://meditationinboston.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Kadampa Meditation Center Boston</a>, located in Davis Square, Cambridge, MA.

We all have a wish to be happy and avoid suffering. Throughout our lives, we travel many different paths driven by this desire: career, relationships, home, vacations, etc. But ultimately, these external paths do not yield the results we seek.
During these introductory Dharma talks and meditation sessions, we will discuss the internal paths that can lead to discovering real happiness and a more meaningful life.
Join longtime Kadampa Buddhist practitioner, Tim Hogarty, to:

Tim is currently in the Teacher Training Program at KMC Boston. Tim frequently makes the commute to KMC Boston to help with special events particularly with the sound desk and to fill in as a guest teacher. Tim lives locally on the North Shore, and is an avid gardener and cook. Enjoys walks with his dog, Boo.

In this half-day retreat, Kadam Michelle will guide us in exploring the true meaning of karma and how our actions, thoughts, and intentions shape our experience.
