Hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives, athletes, entertainers, creatives, and golfers from across the country will gather in Miami Beach September 3–7, 2026, for Urban Golf Weekend Powered by Lexus, a five-day experience that combines golf, business, culture, networking, and community impact.
Hosted at the Eden Roc Miami Beach and the Miami Beach Golf Club, Urban Golf Weekend has evolved from a charitable golf tournament into a national multicultural golf, business and lifestyle experience that broadens participation in the sport and connects communities to the relationships, careers and economic opportunities surrounding golf.
“Golf has always been about more than the game. It is where relationships are built, business is conducted, and opportunities are created,” said Clifton Addison, founder of Urban Golf Weekend and Urban Golf Foundation, Inc. “We are creating a space where culture and commerce converge and opening doors for the next generation.”
This year’s lineup includes actor Woody McClain; actor and former NFL player Isaac Keys; Mielle Organics founders Melvin and Monique Rodriguez; Ayiko Broyard of Walton Isaacson; and entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and golf innovators from across the country.
The programming will explore topics including entrepreneurship, generational wealth, women in golf, health and leadership, breaking barriers, expanding access to the sport, and the transition from athlete to entrepreneur.
Free Business &amp; Lifestyle Expo
A centerpiece of the weekend is the UGW Business &amp; Lifestyle Expo, September 3–4 at Eden Roc Miami Beach. Entrepreneurs, professionals, and local business owners can attend the Expo for free with advance registration(<a href="https://bit.ly/4gcUOX1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://bit.ly/4gcUOX1</a>,&nbsp;making the Expo accessible to South Florida’s business community,&nbsp;whether&nbsp;or not&nbsp;they play&nbsp;golf), whether or not they play golf.
The Expo will feature golf brands such as Eastside Golf, Blackballed Golf, Smart Golf Society, Lbow Golf, Swing Back V Golf, Golf Applied Insurance, Charity Golf Company, and Dixon Golf, along with businesses across fashion, wellness, beauty, media, technology, and financial services.
The marketplace reflects Urban Golf Weekend’s broader goal of expanding participation across golf’s economic ecosystem — from playing the game to building businesses, securing contracts, creating jobs, and developing careers within the industry.
Investing in the Next Generation
For Addison, a two-time graduate of Florida A&amp;M University, the mission extends beyond Labor Day weekend. Through Urban Golf Foundation, Inc., golf serves as a vehicle for youth development, education, mentorship, workforce development, and economic opportunity.
Over the past four years, Urban Golf Weekend and Urban Golf Foundation have invested more than $50,000 in HBCU golf scholarships and youth initiatives, while exposing young people to mentors, professionals, business leaders and career opportunities on and off the course.

Urban Golf Weekend Brings Golf, Business and Culture to Miami Beach

Overtown Performing Arts Center

Free three-day festival brings independent films, industry discussions, and career-building opportunities to Historic Overtown and Downtown Miami. The Urban Film Festival (UFF) returns September 4–6, 2026, to celebrate its 11th year, featuring nearly 200 independent films, industry conversations, filmmaker Q&amp;A sessions, and networking opportunities across Historic Overtown and Downtown Miami.

Presented by Florida Film House International, the three-day festival is free and open to the public, drawing together emerging and established filmmakers, entertainment industry professionals, and audiences.
The festival opens Friday, September 4, at the Overtown Performing Arts Center (OPAC) with films by students in Florida Film House International’s 1st Take Youth Film Program, followed by the Welcome to Miami Party at Red Rooster Overtown.
On Saturday and Sunday, UFF moves to Silverspot Cinema in Downtown Miami for film screenings and Master Discussions on writing, acting, directing, producing, cinematography, distribution, women in film, emerging storytelling formats, and the business of filmmaking.
This year, UFF is placing greater emphasis on helping filmmakers move their projects beyond the screening. A new collaboration with VURT will offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to have their projects reviewed for potential distribution and monetization across formats ranging from feature films and documentaries to vertical series, podcasts, and original programming.
“For 11 years, we’ve worked to ensure that filmmakers don’t just get a screen; they get access,” said Marco “Mall” Molinet, founder of Florida Film House International and the Urban Film Festival. “We want UFF to be a place where a screening can lead to what comes next.”
VURT executives will also participate in discussions on distribution, monetization and the future of storytelling.
Featured speakers throughout the weekend include Shaun Mathis, Ulysses Terrero, Dennis L.A. White, Philly Fly Boy, Angel Barroeta, Yonel Aris, Julian Boothe, Peter Ebanks, Rich Blakk, Mari Carmen Lopez, Miasha Coleman, Dr. Regina Okirike, Alexis Garcia, Marco “Mall” Molinet, and Luc Stephen, along with executives from VURT and MegaMind Media and other industry guests.
Beyond film, UFF continues to spotlight Historic Overtown’s cultural legacy and its role in Miami’s creative community.
“The Urban Film Festival celebrates film, but it also celebrates the community that has been part of its story since the beginning,” said Bla G., cofounder of Florida Film House International and the Urban Film Festival.
Urban Film Festival screenings, Master Discussions, and educational programming are free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged because seating for select programs is limited.
