Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs

No one builds something great on their own. Why do some companies get backed while others get overlooked? Often, it comes down to relationships: the trust you earn with investors, funders, and partners, and the honest feedback that sharpens your story.

On Tuesday, October 27, our speakers will share hard-won insights on raising capital and securing grants, including how to grow the relationships that open doors. Whether you’re building a company, investing, or considering either, this evening is for you. No experience required, and everyone is welcome. Come for the conversation, stay for the food, drinks, and a chance to connect.

We will also host a donation drive forThe Center for Great Expectations in North Brunswick, New Jersey. They are looking for donations of Johnson & Johnson Head to Toe Baby Wash and Baby Lotion. Target and Walmart gift cards will also provide immediate needs when new residents arrive.Hosted by Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs and Life Science Cares NY/NJ.

Who Gets Funded, and Why? A Conversation on Untapped Potential

Are you aware of the federal funding program that supports the commercialization of efforts of biotech innovators? The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) provides over $200 million annually in funding to small businesses developing innovative cancer technologies.

As part of NCI”s engine of innovation for advancing novel cancer-related technologies from lab to market, the SBIR Development Center funds a diverse portfolio of small businesses that are developing technologies to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

The in-person seminar will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the 1:1 meetings from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The program will cover funding opportunities for oncology startups, academic spinout companies, and early-stage academic entrepreneurs, as well as tips for writing competitive grant proposals and commercialization resources for applicants and awardees.
