Everyone is welcome! Enjoy a family-friendly 5K run, jog, or walk for adults, plus a 1K Kids Run. Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply enjoying the experience with family and friends, this event is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
Every registered participant is automatically entered into a lottery drawing for a chance to win a brand-new 2026 Toyota Corolla, courtesy of Alexandria Toyota. Whether you finish first or last, everyone has an equal chance to win. The lucky winner will be announced on race day.
Meet two Olympic legends—Tirunesh Dibaba and Derartu Tulu—who will join us as guests of honor to celebrate and inspire participants throughout the event.

The community meeting will feature mass surveillance expert Dr. Steven Keener. Dr. Keener is a leading researcher on Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs), board member at the Justice Forward Virginia Foundation, assistant professor of criminology at CNU in VA, and director of the Center for Crime, Equity, and Justice Research and Policy.
ALPRs are high-speed, AI-enabled cameras used to identify drivers and pinpoint their location. This digital dragnet captures license plate data and other images of every traveler. ALPRs feed billions of scans into centralized databases. These systems provide tremendous power to track our movements by the government agencies and private tech companies that use and abuse them. On this tour, you will explore the Mount Vernon Estate and mansion house. Learn about the importance of music in the American Revolution, from critical communication to enjoyable entertainment, and about the Enslaved Community. Visit the Slave Memorial and Cemetery and participate in a moving wreath laying ceremony at George and Martha Washington’s tomb. The tour will conclude with a walk to the boat dock and 16-sided barn.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
Participants must be able to walk about a mile on gravel paths. The walk to the boat dock and barn requires walking up and down a hill and participants may choose whether to go on this portion of the tour or not.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
