33 Years and Still Going Strong – The Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza Returns to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center September 17 – 20, 2026Oaks, PA – Mancuso Show Management is proud to present the 33rd annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center will host this spectacular event September 17 - September 20, 2026 featuring over 1000 works of textile art. Additionally, the festival offers vendors, hands on workshops, lectures, a fashion show and product demos. Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza is the center of it all for quilt, wearable and textile art! A highlight of this year’s event is a special exhibition by 7-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein. Best known for writing La Cage aux Folles and Kinky Boots and starring as Edna in Hairspray, Harvey has been making quilts for more than 30 years. During the COVID lockdown, his passion for quilting flourished, inspiring a remarkable collection of quilt art that the Extravaganza is thrilled to premiere. In addition, the festival will display over 30 special exhibitions from regional guilds such as the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild, PieceMakers Quilters and the Sankofa Artisans, travelling quilt collections and the annual national judged competition. Once again Mancuso Show Management sponsored the juried exhibition, Celebration of Women: A Quilter’s Perspective with a portion of the entry fees going to A Woman’s Place (AWP), the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County, PA. Shopping is a must at the event Merchant’s Mall with a diverse assortment of vendors selling sewing machines, fabric, wool, clothing, notions and more. Attendees can sit in on, at no additional charge, several midday lectures and product demonstrations. Back by popular demand are Fashion Friday, an attendee-driven fashion show, and Sticker Saturday, where collecting stickers can earn you a prize. New this year, the Brandywine Rug Hooking Guild will offer rug hooking demonstrations throughout the event. Quilters and textile artists can also preregister for workshops taught by a nationally recognized faculty. This year’s event is sponsored by Major Sponsors: BERNINA/Hayes Sewing Machine Company, BERNINA Longarm/Domesticity, Brother/Byrne Sewing, Baby Lock/Hayes Sewing Machine Company, Janome/Pocono Sew &amp; Vac and Husqvarna Viking &amp; Pfaff/Sew ‘n Place. Open to the public, show tickets can be purchased on-site. General admission is $18 and includes re-admission for all days. Sunday only general admission is $16. The Decent Ok is a Philadelphia-based indie rock band that packs an eclectic blend of rock, pop, and indie anthems to their setlist. Founded in the fall of 2019 by Philly public school teacher and songwriter Nick Lombardo, the band quickly grew into a powerhouse lineup featuring Josh Steingard on drums, Ethan Cain on bass, and James Gaffield on lead guitar. With five genre-bending releases under their belt — Never Been Better, Live at Light &amp; Sound Studio, Vol. II, Still Falling Down, and their latest, Live Animal — The Decent Ok has been making waves across the Philly music scene. Recorded at local studios like Miner Street Recordings, TedAudio, Light &amp; Sound Studio, and in their very own bedrooms, their songs have earned critical acclaim and a growing fanbase. The Decent Ok's sound has reached the USA from coast to coast, having songs recently featured on KEXP in Seattle and WXPN in Philadelphia.
<h3>Jackson Cole</h3>
A nominee for Best Songwriter in the 2023 Maryland Music Awards, Jackson is as much of a capable songwriter as he is a performer. Performing along the likes of National Acts like LA Guns, Great White, and Danger Danger, as well as sharing stages with Robin Thicke and Fantasia Barrino, he can make it happen.
With a trained, big, powerful, high-range voice that has great flexibility of style, he can sing in the range of people’s favorite singers in bands like AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, and Journey.&nbsp;
Stylistically, Jackson infuses soft pop-rock vibes, which are in the same ballpark as The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, and classic Ed Sheeran. He also incorporates stylings of classic rock that appeal to old-school music lovers everywhere. What you end up with is a wide spectrum of great eclectic songs and a feeling like you have discovered a multi-faceted recording artist like Beck or Prince. It’s safe to say the future is bright.

Alderfer Auction is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new satellite sales office in Wayne, PA, starting Wednesday, October 7th.
Located at 303 West Lancaster Ave, Suite 2C (above The UPS Store), the office will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins are welcome with a limit of two items. For larger collections, please arrange a dedicated in-home consultation. To schedule an appointment, email preview@alderferauction.com or call 215-393-3000.
The Wayne office will be led by Allyson Babcock, an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America with over 15 years of experience in the auction and appraising industry. A resident of the Main Line community with a background rooted in her family's decades-long antique business and a degree from Brown University, Allyson specializes in American Furniture, Fine Art, and decorative arts, providing USPAP-compliant appraisals for estate tax, insurance, and equitable distribution.

<h1>From Childhood to Independence: A Night at Longwood Gardens with Amigos de Jesús</h1>
In a country where poverty, limited educational opportunities and economic insecurity can leave young people with few choices for their futures, Amigos de Jesús is working to create another possibility: helping vulnerable children grow into educated, healthy and independent adults with the skills and opportunities to build their lives in Honduras.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Amigos de Jesús will bring that story to Longwood Gardens for Growing Together with Amigos, an evening celebrating the children and young adults of Amigos and inviting the greater Philadelphia community to become part of their journey.
Amigos de Jesús provides a safe and nurturing home for vulnerable children in Honduras, but its work does not end with providing a safe place to live. The organization walks alongside children from childhood into adulthood, providing education, healthcare, emotional support, faith formation, life skills and opportunities designed to prepare them for healthy, independent lives.
“Our goal isn't simply to care for a child today,” said Kelley Jackson, President and CEO of Amigos de Jesús. “We have to ask what success looks like when that child becomes an adult. Are they educated? Are they healthy? Do they have the skills and confidence to work, manage their lives and build a future within the realities of Honduras? That is the journey we are committed to.”
Guests attending Growing Together with Amigos are invited to enjoy Longwood Gardens throughout the day before gathering in the Fountain Room from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, stories and updates from Honduras, and a private illuminated fountain show.
The evening is designed not only to raise critical funds for the mission, but also to introduce new people throughout the region to Amigos de Jesús and the many ways individuals, families, schools, churches and businesses can become involved.
Tickets are $200 per person and include untimed admission to Longwood Gardens for the day, the evening reception and private illuminated fountain show.

MALVERN, Pa. &mdash; The Transportation Management Association of Chester County is inviting residents who usually drive alone to test one different way to work during National TDM Week, September 14 through 18.Transportation Demand Management, commonly called TDM, brings together practical strategies that give travelers more choices and help the transportation network carry people more efficiently. Those strategies include carpooling and vanpooling, public transportation, biking and walking, flexible or compressed schedules, remote work, trip planning, commuter benefits, and clearer travel information.
&ldquo;This is not an argument against the car, and it is not a demand for a perfect commute,&rdquo; said P. Timothy Phelps, executive director of TMACC. &ldquo;We are asking people to look at one workday and ask whether that trip could happen differently. One thoughtful experiment can show a commuter what works and show employers and communities what still needs to improve.&rdquo;
The latest available U.S. Census Bureau estimate underscores the opportunity. In 2024, an estimated 195,010 Chester County workers age 16 and over drove alone to work, representing 67.8 percent of county workers. An estimated 59,166 worked from home, or 20.6 percent. The American Community Survey figures describe workers&rsquo; usual means of transportation to work; they are not daily vehicle counts.
TMACC encourages commuters to choose an option that fits their actual lives. A resident might share a ride with a colleague, check a public transportation route, bicycle or walk when a safe connection exists, shift the workday outside the busiest travel period, or work remotely when the job and employer permit it. Employees who already work remotely one day can ask whether they can have preferred parking when sharing a ride.
TDM also depends on institutions. Employers can offer commuter benefits, preferred carpool parking, secure bicycle storage, flexible schedules, and clear hybrid-work expectations. Municipalities, planners, and transportation providers can strengthen the sidewalks, trails, transit connections, information, and land-use patterns that turn an option into a reliable choice.
Throughout the week, TMACC will publish practical information for Chester County commuters and invite residents to share what would make a different trip possible. The campaign supports the 2026 TDM Week theme, &ldquo;The Power of Transportation Options.&rdquo;
&ldquo;The first question is not, &lsquo;Can I change every commute?&rsquo;&rdquo; Phelps said. &ldquo;It is, &lsquo;Which one trip could I try?&rsquo; Start there, pay attention to the experience, and keep what works.&rdquo;
