Meditation Center in Lambertville Hosts Three-Day Event on Anxiety, Aging, and Finding Peace May 1–3 | Open to the Public
Menlha Kadampa Meditation Center will host a special three-day meditation event from&nbsp;May 1–3, featuring visiting Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Chöma. The weekend includes a public talk, a half-day course, and a concluding session focused on practical methods for navigating fear, change, and uncertainty with greater clarity and peace.
The event begins Friday evening with&nbsp;“Creating Optimism in Times of Fear &amp; Anxiety,”&nbsp;a public talk addressing the growing experience of stress and worry in modern life. Drawing on the teachings of Buddha, Gen Chöma will explain how anxiety arises from the mind and how it can be reduced by developing a new perspective resulting in mental peace.
On Saturday, the course&nbsp;“Aging with Wisdom: A Buddhist Exploration”&nbsp;offers two teaching sessions and guided meditations on approaching aging and illness with acceptance, insight, and meaning. A light lunch will be provided.
The weekend concludes Sunday morning with&nbsp;“How to Help in Troubled Times: A Buddhist Perspective,”&nbsp;which explores how to respond to today’s challenges with skillful action based on compassion and wisdom.
All sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

Wrightstown, PA — Free cake, monster bubbles, live music and a 20-year milestone. The Wrightstown Farmers Market is kicking off its 20th season on Saturday, May 2, and Opening Day is packed with reasons to show up early.
The market runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Middletown Grange (576 Penns Park Road), with free cake for early visitors (baked by Erin Gresh of Forget Me Not Bakery) and a free nasturtium plant giveaway starting at 9:30 a.m. The market is also celebrating 20 years alongside its parent nonprofit, the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance (BCFA).
Kids can chase giant bubbles, families can settle in under the shade trees, and live music from local favorite The Goose Creek Pioneers will fill the market with fun all morning.
Wrightstown Farmers Market is a producer-only market that brings together about 40 local farmers and producers each week, offering everything from fresh produce and baked goods to meats, cheeses, starter plants, raw honey, pickles, fermented goodies, locally roasted coffee, homemade granola, locally grown whole grains, olive oil, pasture-raised eggs, ready-to-eat selections and so much more.
 Returning produce farms include Blooming Glen Farm, Rolling Hills Farm, Hollow House Farms, Primordia Mushroom Farm, Solebury Orchards and pop-ups Roots to River Farm, Solly Farm, and Community Baptist Church Farm. Meat and dairy farmers include Holben Valley Farm, Purely Farm, and Sugar Maple Jerseys. New vendors this season include Antojitos Mexicanos Maritity Tacos, Backyard Buzz, Smell the Curry, Hoffman Bread, Monarch Butterflies of Bucks Co, along with the return of Kismet Bagels and so many more.
“It’s hard to believe we’re celebrating 20 years,” says Market Manager Cheryl Gilmore. “So many families have grown up at this market. It’s become a place where people come not just to shop, but to connect - with farmers, with neighbors, and with each other.”
The market runs every Saturday through November (with the exception of August 15th) with free parking and shaded seating. Only service animals are permitted.
Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first visit, opening day is a great time to come out and be part of something that’s been growing right alongside the community for 20 years.

Delaware Valley Wind Symphony Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday!
The Delaware Valley Wind Symphony invites the community to a stirring musical celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States. This special concert will take place on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 PM at Holland Middle School.
This special program features great music by American composers that together tell the story of our nation—from moments of reflection to triumphant celebration. Highlights include spectacular music by John Williams, including a stirring arrangement of our national anthem, as well as the deeply moving Hymn to the Fallen from the Academy Award–winning film, Saving Private Ryan. Williams’ powerful music pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our nation.
Also on the program is Variations on America by the pioneering American composer Charles Ives. Known for his bold musical experimentation, Ives viewed his music as a “democratic” art form inspired by everyday American life. His music often echoes the sounds of New England town bands, church hymns, and patriotic melodies woven together in imaginative ways.
A highlight of the concert will be a special guest appearance by Scott Teschner, retired Central Bucks music educator, who will perform the spoken narration for Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland. This dramatic work blends orchestral music with spoken excerpts from the speeches and letters of Abraham Lincoln. The text highlights the struggle for freedom, democracy, and national unity during the Civil War. It famously opening with the powerful declaration: “Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history.”
The concert will conclude with a rousing performance of National Emblem March by the legendary “March King,” John Philip Sousa—a fitting and exhilarating finale to this American birthday celebration.
This inspiring program is designed to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, combining powerful music, history, and storytelling to celebrate the American experience. Audience members are invited to a light reception immediately following the concert. Tickets are available at the door. Adults: $15. Children and students: free of charge.
