The USO, the leading nonprofit organization supporting U.S. service members and their families, and Kroger’s Atlanta Division have teamed up for the “Kick Hunger to the Sidelines | Stuff the Truck” food drive, inviting customers to donate items that will support military service members and their families.
The food drive will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the Powers Ferry Kroger, 1310 Powers Ferry Road SE in Marietta. The USO | Kroger Mobile Food Truck will be on-site during the event.
Through this partnership, the USO and Kroger will provide nutritious meals to military members and bring them a taste of home, whether they’re supporting natural disaster relief, serving in remote locations or at basic training.
Shoppers and associates are invited to join in and help stuff the truck with much-needed supplies for service member care packs.
“More than two million U.S. troops serve on active duty or are in the reserves today, including some of our own associates,” said Tammie Young-Ennaemba, head of communications and public affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Kroger is proud to continue our work with the USO to help support our troops and their families.”
