THE STORY: Half-bat, half-boy, ripped from the tabloid headlines, and thrust into the spotlight! In this camp horror comedy, a misunderstood monster seeks a place to belong. Taken in by a veterinarian, endeared to his adopted sister Shelly, and reviled by the locals, mild-mannered “Edgar” searches fiercely for a place he can truly be himself. Set to an eclectic pop-rock score by Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde, Heathers the Musical), Edgar’s wild journey is a hilarious satire and an offbeat fable for the outsider in all of us.

This Halloween, start the spookiest night of the year with us in haunting, historic Concord! October 31 show attendees will enjoy a photobooth experience at our step-and-repeat, a costume contest with bloody good prizes, a la carte themed concessions and drinks, and a mini art bazaar filled with spooky arts and oddities.
KidCare is Umbrella Arts' program that invites caregivers to attend select performances while their child(ren) engage in production-inspired art activities on-site. It's better access to cultural events, plus a shared arts experience for families to talk about on the way home.&nbsp;

Experience colorful, purposeful art that will awe and inspire, and celebrate all four of our Fall Gallery Artists at this free joint opening reception at Umbrella Arts.

Enjoy light refreshments as you browse the three indoor gallery spaces and hear from all the artists about their process, vision, and body of work that is on display indoors and at the outdoor Art Ramble at nearby Hapgood Wright Town Forest.

Driven by curiosity and a background in Wildlife Biology, Cynthia Fisher has created varied and philosophical works that seek to elevate mosaics beyond the world of craft and into fine art. Through inspiring cultural conversations, Fisher aims to engage the viewer in questioning our impact on the natural world.

Utilizing a wide range of materials, including vitreous glass and broken pottery, the tactile and textured nature of the medium forces us to share the space. Prompting questions about how we currently engage with the world around us and how it may engage with us. Through her works, she explores our environmental impact on our planet, addressing not only the greatness of human life, but our responsibility towards the natural world.

Our inaugural Vertical Gallery Activation features a multi-media installation from Massachusetts artist Debra Fleury. Influenced by the human experience, Fleury’s work seeks to encourage exploration and evoke a sense of joy and wonder.

Translucent fabric has been painted in a watercolor effect and sewn together, creating channels and undulating patterns that are then filled with wire. Through this process, “a hidden internal world is made visible, giving shape to what is deeply felt but not easily named.” The work’s suggestion of structure and mercurial nature constantly transforms the piece, allowing for a range of viewing experiences.

Fleury’s installation evokes a sense of curiosity in the viewer as they explore and experience the energy and evolution of her work in real time.

THE STORY: A homebound teen and an unexpected visitor clash over a Walt Whitman assignment that will lead them to a stunning epiphany. Caroline is sharp-witted, guarded, and sardonic as Anthony is athletic, sensitive, and popular, but as they debate ecstatic poetry, life and love, youth and mortality, they discover they are more connected than they may seem. A luminous play from America’s most-produced playwright Lauren Gunderson, I and You is a genuinely funny, deeply moving ode to all the unseen ways we are connected.
