On Saturday, April 18, Congregation Or Shalom will host a lively evening of entertainment, games, great food and community being called “L'Chaim &amp; Lagers.” The evening will honor the dedicated leaders and volunteers who make this congregation thrive, including the clergy, educators and the caring individuals who help sustain this vibrant Jewish community. 
The festivities will take place at the Half Day Brewing Company, located at 200 Village Green South, in Lincolnshire, starting at 6:30 pm. The evening will feature a magician, karaoke, life-sized games, and music bingo along with a silent auction, raffles, delicious food and an open bar that includes wine, spirits and signature cocktails. Those attending are invited to wear “diamonds” and denim.
Tickets range from $80 for general admission to $136 – which includes a VIP brewery tour. Sponsorships are also available.

Lively “L'Chaim & Lagers” Fundraising Event Being Held in April

Exmoor Country Club

The Myra Rubenstein Weis (MRW) Executive Committee will hold its 29th Annual Benefit Luncheon at the Exmoor Country Club, located at 700 Vine Avenue, Highland Park, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, starting at 10:30 am. Tickets are $175/person; tables start at $2,500. 
This year’s honoree will be Endeavor Health hematologist oncologist Matthew Adess, MD, whose philosophy of patient care is to treat people the way he would want to be treated, and to deliver the best possible patient care with empathy, dedication, and respect, especially during their most vulnerable moments. This year’s speaker, David Dickerson, MD, Division Chief of Pain Medicine at Endeavor Health’s NorthShore and Swedish hospitals, will discuss how treating the whole person for acute and chronic pain helps reduce pain and improves function. 
The luncheon will include a silent auction featuring a vast array of items as well as a raffle with bags valued at more than $3000 each. 
The proceeds of this event support the MRW Health Resource Center, which serves to educate patients to make more informed decisions about their health that ultimately encourages them to have better outcomes and enjoy a healthier quality of life. The Center’s offerings include support of the Living in the Future (LIFE) Cancer Survivorship Program, community health education and awareness and diabetes education, screening, and outreach programming.
