Please join us on Monday, July 27th, from 6 to 9 pm for our monthly jazz vocal open mic at El Golfo Restaurant.Whether you’re brushing up songs for your next gig, a complete newbie to the open mic scene, or a listener who loves vocal jazz, all are welcome as we pay homage to the exquisite craft of singing this classic American artform. We recently added a “featured vocalist” segment, where we showcase one of our regular singers midway through the evening. This month's featured vocalist, Jacqui Simmons, will share straight-ahead standards with echoes of Sarah, Carmen, and Ella.Pianist Pete Frassrand returns as our accompanist. (Singers, bring charts in your key, if possible.)El Golfo has great vibes, delicious Latin/Mexican cuisine, and plenty of parking.No cover charge, but we suggest a donation of $10. All tips beyond the musician's fee support a health fund for El Golfo's beloved owner, Ada Villatoro.Signups begin at 5:45 pm. Hope to see you there!

Anything Goes (2022 Revision) is a vibrant, dance-heavy version of Cole Porter's classic musical about romance and mistaken identities aboard the S.S. American, following stowaway Billy Crocker's quest to win heiress Hope Harcourt from her stuffy fiancé, with help from singer Reno Sweeney and gangster "Moonface" Martin, all set to iconic songs like "You're the Top" and the title track, with the 2022 revision updating the book for modern audiences and boosting its dance numbers. 
This version of Anything Goes was adapted from the 1987 Broadway revival, originally produced by Lincoln Center Theater.

While it contains mild adult humor, innuendo, and references to alcohol/smoking typical of the 1930s setting, it lacks heavy violence or explicit scenes
