Many parents believe Snapchat is just a harmless app for sending silly photos and staying in touch with school friends, but the reality behind the screen is vastly different.
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Snapchat Safety for Parents”, on Tuesday, October 6, 6:30 PM, at the Library.
The featured speaker, Attorney Zachary Yurick, is a former Chester County Child Abuse Prosecutor who now represents harmed families against Snap Inc. 
This eye-opening session teaches parents exactly how predators manipulate features to target and exploit kids, alongside the very real warning signs of social media addiction. Attendees will walk away with:&nbsp;<ul><li>Practical, immediate strategies to actively monitor behavior and spot red flags.&nbsp; </li><li>A&nbsp;"Digital Defense Checklist" to make the app safer for your teens today.</li><li>Step-by-step instructions on how to implement Snapchat’s actual safety features, and expert knowledge on where they commonly fail. </li></ul>
About the Speaker: Zack is a dedicated trial attorney who has spent his career serving as a fierce voice for vulnerable children and crime victims. His work earned him the 2023 Prosecutor of the Year Award and the 2024 Crime Victim Advocacy Award. Most recently, he was named a 2026 Nextgen Superstar and Main Line Today’s Top Crime Victim Attorney for his work representing harmed children and their families. He leverages his unique investigative background to expose platform vulnerabilities, hold tech giants legally responsible, and provide communities with the critical education parents need to protect their children.

Festival Founder and Director (and Pottstown&nbsp;Native)&nbsp;<a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1428828" target="_blank" data-pdffiller-skip="1" rel="nofollow noopener">Kyle Klaus</a> will also present a special screening of his first filmmaking experience from college, bringing his filmmaking journey full circle more than 20 years later.
Saturday evening will be headlined by the feature documentary BLOOD &amp; GUTS, followed by the festival’s official afterparty at JJ Rattigan’s.
The festival continues Sunday with additional documentary screenings and Q&amp;As before concluding with the 4th Annual Pottstown Film Festival Awards Ceremony.
