Our last concert of the 2025-26 season features The White House Band, performing a mix of jazz ranging from swing and Dixieland to hip-hop and other popular genres. The White House Band musicians were all members of Washington DC-based military service bands and regularly performed at the White House. &nbsp;Trumpeter Dave Detwiler followed his US Army Band career with a second career with the National Symphony Orchestra Pops while founding and organizing The White House Band simultaneously. &nbsp;Free admission and reception to follow.

Haven of Northern Virginia Inc

Haven is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community organization of trained volunteers that offers emotional support to the bereaved, the seriously ill, the dying and to their families and friends. Haven also provides education to the community about the needs of those who are grieving.
Since September 1976 Haven volunteers have helped individuals work through their grief, offering comfort and support by sharing insights, resources and techniques that encourage recovery and healing. Support is conducted by trained volunteers, not therapists. Group is intended for those who have suffered the loss of a spouse or partner. No cost to attend.
The group will focus on understanding spousal grief, how to cope, how to take care of yourself and how to remember a special life. Group will meet the 4th Saturday of each month. No registration required. Feel free to just "drop-in".
