Alchemy Ballet

Alchemy Ballet is a Fairfax County–based nonprofit ballet program dedicated to cultivating the next generation of dancers through rigorous classical training, performance, and cross-cultural collaboration. Grounded in the Vaganova method and informed by emerging research in dancer health and longevity, Alchemy Ballet combines disciplined technique with a broader commitment to artistic growth and cultural exchange.

Led by Artistic Director Lorraine Audéoud Spiegler, a respected educator with decades of experience guiding advanced ballet training programs, Alchemy Ballet has quickly established a reputation for excellence. In 2025, the program was recognized as a Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding School. While curated competitions are included in the program, Alchemy Ballet’s principal aim is to provide exceptional preparation for careers in dance and related artistic fields.

Students receive individualized coaching, regular performance opportunities, and exposure to a range of artistic influences through workshops and visiting artists. In its first few years, Alchemy Ballet dancers have progressed to trainee programs and company positions with Joffrey Ballet, Ballet West, Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Arles Youth Ballet Company, and the Poznań Opera House.

Alchemy Ballet also offers classes for beginners, adult students, dancers seeking drop-in training opportunities, and high-calibre summer intensive training programs.

Artists in Motion dba Alchemy Ballet is a Fairfax County, Virginia–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to building an international community of artists, teachers, students, and families while promoting excellence, creativity, service, and cultural exchange through the arts.
