'Typical' PNW Weather Returns For Most In Washington

After a week of freezing temperatures and wild weather for some, Washington looks to be settling back down to normal.

SEATTLE, WA — A week that brought wild winter weather to some, and unrequited dreams of a lowland snowstorm for others, will end with the return of a more familiar forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS meteorologists said Saturday will bring rainfall for most before precipitation tapers off in the evening. Portions of Whatcom County and the Hood Canal area were under a winter weather advisory until early Saturday morning, with the potential to pick up 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight, before transitioning to rain.

One remaining hazard is in the mountain passes, where 10 to 20 inches could fall at higher elevations by Saturday night. NWS Seattle said drivers heading over the mountains should expect difficult travel conditions and likely delays.
