Strong Foundations: Core & Pelvic Health in Menopause
Perimenopause and Menopause are challenging times in which the body goes through many changes.Urinary leakage, urinary frequency, urinary tract infections, pelvic organ prolapse, core weakness, vaginal dryness, and pelvic pain can often develop during this time.Consider attending this class, if you would like to feel your best through menopause.You will also learn how to optimize the health of your core, pelvic floor, and pelvic organs through simple tips and exercises. We will also provide information on pelvic organ prolapse, how to help prevent it and what to do if you have that feeling of heaviness down there. Nina Olson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy that specializes in bowel and bladder function in both men and women.Join us for a lively and informative discussion on how to optimize your health during this period of change.

In this class, we’ll talk about what cognition is, ways it can decline, and most importantly, what you can do about it. You’ll learn simple, everyday strategies—like fun brain exercises, staying socially connected, moving your body, and healthy eating—that can make a big difference for your brain health. This class is designed to give you practical tools and encouragement to stay mentally strong at every stage of life.

Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a reduction in bone mass, which causes bones to become fragile. When bones are fragile, they are at a greater risk of fracture. Peak bone density is developed in youth. Inadequate bone development can lead to common bone injuries in the child/teen athlete population and seniors. These 3 one-hour classes taught by a physical therapist will cover 1. Osteoporosis overview- risk factors, symptoms, medications, supplements, and lifestyle influences. 2. Exercises for osteoporosis- posture, strength, weight-bearing exercise. This is a class to teach safe exercise performance to promote bone density and strength. 3. Nutrition for osteoporosis: Understanding how to reduce limiting inflammation through nutritional choices to promote metabolic efficiency, repair, and growth. This class will be appropriate and helpful for athletes, teens, adults, the elderly and anyone cooking for children/others.
