Heat Wave Coming To Milwaukee Area Next Week

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee-area residents should enjoy the upcoming weekend before a significant warm-up arrives early next week, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee.

Forecasters say Friday will see highs ranging from 63 to 77 degrees, with conditions remaining comfortable through the weekend.

Saturday highs are expected to reach 67 to 81 degrees with a small late-day storm chance, and Sunday climbs to 73 to 85 degrees. Temperatures will run cooler near Lake Michigan throughout the period.

The heat builds fast from there. Monday highs are forecast between 88 and 93 degrees with no rain expected, followed by 90 to 94 degrees Tuesday and 90 to 95 degrees Wednesday.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday carry storm chances of 15 to 30 percent as the combination of heat and rising humidity fuels isolated to scattered thunderstorm development.

Overnight lows will offer little relief, dropping only into the upper 60s to mid-70s by midweek.

The NWS says the elevated heat and humidity will create heat exhaustion concerns. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid extended outdoor exertion during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors and family members. Those without air conditioning should identify nearby cooling options in advance.
