Petition Against Citizens United Validated

After a successful petition drive, Wauwatosa is set to take a stance on the controversial Supreme Court decision Citizens United, WauwatosaNOW reports. 

An advisory referendum would express residents' position on Citizens United — which said the First Amendment protecting free speech did not allow the government to restrict political campaign contributions by corporations or other groups. 

The drive was organized by Grassroots Tosa and United Wisconsin, the newspaper reports.
