Wauwatosa West standout Austin Jones led the Trojans to what is believed to be its best finish in school history, setting other records along the way.

ThoughΒ Wauwatosa West fell short of reaching stateΒ in the WIAAΒ Summer Baseball Tournament this year, Jones ledΒ the Trojans to what is believed to be its best record in school history β 23-6.Β
Over 80 innings,Β Jones racked up 131 strikeouts, a 0.70 earned run average and nine wins. HeΒ also finished with aΒ a .451 batting average andΒ 28 runs batted, the newspaper says.Β

The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel have named Jones as player of the year.
Wauwatosa Westβs Jack Ward was also named assistant coach of the year by the coaches association.Β
