• Suit filed over hospital records (tricityledger.com) — Atmore Community Hospital’s managing nonprofit has sued the Escambia County Healthcare Authority, seeking detailed financial records and a forensic audit of how hospital tax revenues are split between Atmore and Brewton. The suit claims Atmore receives significantly less funding and alleges the authority’s CFO has withheld key documentation about those allocations.
   

• Little River State Forest in Atmore slated to reopen Summer 2026 (thebamabuzz.com) — Little River State Park in Atmore is expected to reopen this summer with a new entrance bridge, upgraded campsites, and improved water and septic systems after years of storm-related closure. Located on H. Kyle Road north of I-65, the long-loved park will again offer fishing, swimming, and family-friendly recreation once final renovations wrap up.
