• Work to begin on $5.3 million widening project along Highway 53 in Harvest (256today.com) — Drivers in Harvest should prepare for years of construction as ALDOT begins a $5.3 million project next week to widen about a mile of Highway 53 between Taurus Drive and Harvest Road. Work will add lanes, resurface nearby stretches, and periodically close side streets or reduce traffic to one lane through late 2027, aiming to ease congestion in this fast-growing corridor.
