• Baldwin County researchers develop historic tiny transmitter to track hummingbirds' migration (gulfcoastmedia.com) — Researchers working along the Baldwin County coast, including a hummingbird tagged in Lillian that flew all the way to Alaska, are pioneering ultra-light transmitters to map tiny birds’ migrations. Their HumTrack project, backed by a new $295,000 grant, is expanding across the hemisphere while still relying on local hosts, banding stations, and community support from Mobile and Baldwin counties.
