1. Clotilda changed Africatown. Now officials want a new roadmap for its future (al.com) — Africatown residents can soon help reshape their neighborhood as Mobile County and the City of Mobile launch an update of the Africatown Neighborhood Plan, now outdated after the Clotilda's discovery. Officials are hiring a planning firm and promise multiple public meetings so locals can prioritize projects, tourism, housing, and infrastructure improvements.
   

2. AltaPointe Health celebrates $15 million BayPointe Hospital expansion (fox10tv.com) — BayPointe Hospital in Mobile has added 34 adult beds in a $15 million expansion, boosting total capacity to 138 and restoring space for children and teens. Supported by $6 million in Mobile County ARPA funds, the project expands mental health care for adults and youth, adds classrooms for local school systems, and speeds access to treatment across Mobile County.
   

3. Detective testifies Mobile man drank heavily and fatally shot girlfriend but can't say why (fox10tv.com) — A Mobile man is facing a murder charge after a judge ruled there's enough evidence to send his girlfriend's fatal shooting case to a grand jury. Testimony described heavy drinking, an aggressive mood, a manhunt, and multiple witnesses, though investigators say they still have no clear motive and have not recovered the gun.
   

4. Second deadly shooting at Mobile bar in less than a year, MPD says (fox10tv.com) — Mobile police say a 43-year-old man died after being shot during a fight at Poinse's Lounge early Sunday, marking the bar's second deadly shooting in less than a year. A 29-year-old suspect is charged with murder and held on a $300,000 bond, with strict conditions if he's released.
   

5. Mobile to expand downtown entertainment districts (wkrg.com) — Mobile officials are moving to expand two downtown entertainment districts, including adding the new Regions Arena area so visitors can carry to-go drinks between restaurants and events. The proposal, headed to the City Council, would pull more Government and Dauphin Street businesses into District 3 and could prompt new lighting and traffic controls for big crowds.
